How I Handle The Deaths Of Loved Ones – Davido
Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly referred to as Davido, recently disclosed how he navigates the emotional pain of bereavement.
The singer has coped with profound loss throughout his life, including the death of his mother, Mrs. Victoria Imade Adeleke, in his youth, and later his 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, as well as multiple associates, including Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW, and photographer Fortune, within a relatively short period.
Davido revealed in an interview with Mystery Fashionist in New York that his faith has been instrumental in his ability to cope with adversity.
At eleven years old, I lost my mother, and since then, I have endured numerous losses, but I continue to draw upon my inner strength, as expressed in my song ‘Stand Strong.’
He attributed his ability to persevere to strength and faith, stating, “These have kept me going,” and concurrently addressed prevailing misconceptions about himself.
‘I believe some individuals perceive me as unapproachable at times. Conversely, another common misconception is that people also view me as overly accessible.
“I grew up in a big family, I’m used to having people around me. My talent and success is God-given,” he explained.
