Regina Daniels Clarifies Video, Insists She Remained A Virgin Until Marriage.
Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has addressed her recent comments about having “20 boyfriends” before meeting her husband, Nigerian businessman and politician Ned Nwoko.
During a TikTok live session, Daniels reflected on her initial encounter with Nwoko, revealing she had multiple suitors at the time, but emphasized that her decision to marry him was made independently, refuting allegations of coercion.
In further counsel, the mother of two urged young women not to permit their current boyfriends to prevent them from meeting their future husbands, assuring that she would elaborate on her own story in the future.
In response to public commentary, Daniels posted on Instagram to clarify the rationale behind her original statement.
“I want to clarify the ‘20 boyfriend’ issue to soothe my husband and educate young girls,” she wrote. “Having several male friends who are willing to do things for you doesn’t mean you owe them your body. And yes, I did have a lot, but I made a promise to keep my virginity until my marriage—and guess what? I did!”
Earlier this year, Ned Nwoko also made headlines when he said he wouldn’t marry a woman who wasn’t a virgin, a statement that stirred discussion across social media.
Nwoko clarified that he follows his personal values when choosing a partner and emphasized that he has his own preferences.
Daniels and Nwoko celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in May, reflecting on a “remarkable” five years filled with love and mutual respect.
Daniels, who married Nwoko at 19, often faces public scrutiny about their 38-year age difference.
She has spoken openly about her decision, saying she was drawn to his maturity and wisdom.
